My Collage

This is my collage project!  Below is the paragraph I wrote to explain the items I applied and why I chose them with two new techniques I learned in Photoshop:

In my collage, I used many images and phrases that summarize my personality and the things I enjoy and are most passionate about.  As two background pictures, I added an image of the ocean because I love going to the beach and watching the crashing waves, and I used a photo of the orange fall leaves to show my favorite season and how I enjoy observing the bright, colorful leaf changes.  Inside the white, center sliver, where I faded and blended my two background images together, I typed a smiley face and the words ‘laughter’ because I am also smiling and laughing.  On top of the beach picture, I manipulated two music symbols as I really like listening to music, especially my favorite band One Direction, which is the “1D” logo in the top left corner.  My dream car is to own a pink punch buggy so I added a picture of that, along with one of my favorite animals, a bunny rabbit.  To represent my sports aspect, I incorporated a softball and a cheering megaphone because those are my two serious competitive, athletic activities.  Showing through my two backgrounds are a picture of a horse to show my strong passion for horses as I hope to one day own one, and a colorful sunglasses image on the bottom symbolizing my love and excitement for the sunny, summer season.  During the process of constructing my collage, I learned a few new, useful tools, as well.  A new tool that became very helpful to me was the gradient tool that shades images to neatly blend them together.  And, I also learned how to make an image appear inside another by changing the fade to soft or hard or any of the other choices until you find your exact match.
